Making herbal tea is a daily thing for our family. We enjoy making herbteasusing my love of blending many different herbs. But the best part is making it all special especially when I give it as a gift.
One thing I love to do is make individual tea bags full of my special blends, but it is hard to find a tea bag that will work so I decided to create my own.
I decided to use coffee filters or Bulk Herb Store has some too. Sewing makes it fun as you can add a colored thread to make it match a gift or a theme. Thinking about all this Viking stuff around here, purple thread tea bags would be fun!
Stamping is another added love so getting out stamps to go with the persons’ personality or if it’s a special occasion like a birthday. I, of course, used our touch of simple ranch life which became my platform to make the tea bags. I hope you will find it just as fun and your special touches will be a delight for the receiver.
Let me know what you think by making a comment below. I enjoy seeing the ideas as well as ways to improve my own ideas.
SO…here ya go!
Now for the fun part! Stamping time! Grab some fun background paper and favorite stamps, stamp and cut out. The final step, tape to your dangling string. Done! I am sure it looks adorable. You can go into Amazon and search favorite stamps if you are not into western.
Here are some I did.
Think how wonderful it would be to get a get well card with a fun box full of tea bags with herbs that will help whatever their illness.
Very special and a homemade touch!
OH, I love it…enjoy making some and giving them as gifts! Again, let me know by making a comment.
Love deeper, talk sweeter,
Do you have days; maybe whole seasons where you just need a boost of faith? Are you experiencing times of loneliness, defeat, or just plain emptiness? Is life throwing you some curve balls that are overwhelming you right now? Maybe it is just a season of nothing exciting happening. Your just feeling BLAH!!
These are warning signs to quickly turn to God’s word to GIVE YOU A BOOST!
I read this passage today and took out my illustrated faith creative kit, and began meditating on this passage. Hebrews 11:3. “By faith, we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.”
We have no idea what God has planned. But resting in faith helps us hang on!
Oh MY, you can’t help but get a boost! Look at each verse in the chapter.
Each of them has a story behind them that will bring your heart and mind to awe.
WHY? Because each story has a character like you and me, we can begin to relate in some way. You will have no doubt that there is a God who is watching over you when you experience the Lord working during your down seasons. He indeed has the power to help you overcome your dark times here on earth.
Some of the stories, which I believe are all true and indeed happened, bring me immediately to a place of comfort because they show me God is in control They show me that in all things, God brings together for our good.
Let me share on a personal note.
Four years ago we had our horses boarded at a nearby farm. For three years we did our ministry from this barn. It was wonderful as it had a heated indoor facility, huge outdoor arena, and beautiful trails. We just loved it there, and the folks who ran it was awesome. It really was perfect. We also had this property, which we are now on, but the Lord was not opening the doors for us to be on this property. At times I would walk this land and pray and hope ministry would indeed happen here. That it would become a full-on ministry in our own area that we called True North Ranch. I would walk the land and the Lord would give me pictures of what it would soon look like. Imagining a road here, a fence there, the horses eating, and ministry happening.
But it just wasn’t happening.
One spring day in early April, we had the yearly vet day. As the borders, me, and the owners were busy getting horses into the stalls preparing for the vet visit, it seemed a little weird. The owners weren’t their happy selves. The owner came in head down, no smile or greeting and proceeded to close the barn doors. She remained somber and quiet and went on to share that she had some bad news.
My heart dropped.
Someone had reported their barn as not being compliant with the area laws and turned them in. (ALL NOT TRUE to the extent they were demanding). The authorities told them they could no longer have boarding horses. We were devastated. All of us! We were saddened that our friends all standing before us were hurting and going through this and at the same time thinking what WE would do. (As if our God didn’t have a plan)
The worst thing the owner shared was we needed to be out by June 1. THAT WAS ONLY 2 MONTHS away!
But the Lord our GOD had a plan!
We had this property. This property just sitting there waiting for the right time. The property in its beauty full of trees, yet… no road, no electricity, no running water, no shelter, no no no…..just trees.
I was excited at the thought of having the horses now on the property, but in the process of excitement, I worried about all that had to be done. In two months no less!
Here in Hebrews Chapter 11….my story…In 2 months God rocked! Every day. Every moment, He provided. He provided funds for fencing, automatic water, horse shelter, pump house, round pen, roads, and hay. HE PROVIDED IN HIS TIME and in the right moment.
It wasn’t easy. It didn’t happen overnight. But the Lord took what was an awful stressful time…and turned it into awesome.
Only a GOD who cares and loves you can do such a thing!
You have a Chapter 11 faith stories too. You need to look back on what the Lord has done so you can remember how GOOD HE is. By remembering a past trauma and how God brought you through, will get you through the rough patches you are going through right now.
It’s a faith booster! One we all need!
Journaling is wonderful because of this. You can go back and look at faith stories of your own. Recalling HIS workmanship in your life gives you strength!
It works for me every time!!!
The stories are my BOOSTS both in the word in and my own.
Get a BOOST of faith today. Journal, create a faith memory, and share it with others who too may need a boost! Being gratefulis also a very helpful tool during your time of boosting!
God bless you!

Do you ever wish you had some creative way to give a small gift to friends for the family? Just something that can be quick to make and easy to fill?
These cute boxes only take some fun background paper and a little do-dad here and there. Imagination goes a long way to set the stage for your gift. I always think of the personality or something special about the person to give the gift box a special touch.
Especially fun is what you put inside! I put homemade tea bags in one of mine along with a cookie snack. This gives the idea for the person to relax and enjoy a cup of tea.
(of course, I would only use homemade tea blends)
Below I give you other ideas for you to get the picture. So get creative and have a blast with these!
With Valentine’s coming up I know there would be teachers who would adore one of the boxes!
I used a scorer in my cutter.
I love this tool! It extends to 12×12 size paper which I use a ton when making envelopes.
I have this set of horsesI use ALL the time! I can use watercolor techniques or my new blender markers! LOVE LOVE!
Here are some of my favorite background papers GREAT price too…

Love deeper, talk sweeter,
Coloring and being creative in card making has always been a love of mine! I have loved to color, draw, scrapbook, and gift making since I was a young girl. But recently, I have enjoyed the art and love of journaling in my daily devotional time.
In the year 2017, I stepped into ANOTHER form of creativity. I added a planner that I could add fun color, wasabi tape, or stickers to help remind me of different events.
Who would have ever thought to put your daily calendar into full color and splash would make me WANT to look at it? It helps me remember too as well as fun creating it!
So in 2018, I got myself a combination of devotional and a planner all in one! In just a few days of starting the new year, I have enjoyed the doodling, journaling and I think the best part is the focused verse. I take it with me throughout the day. Memorizing, pondering, and loving God’s word in my daily tasks. This one is on a non-affiliated but wanted to share. Dayspring also has a TON to choose from.
I also love how I can write prayer requests, or look to see who I need to pray for.
While I am in my devotional time and the Lord inspires something on my heart, I can still be creative in my bible. I can do my devotional than plan my day and still be focusing on God’s word and prayer. One day I reverse it and you know what? It helped me focus more on my quiet time because I got the “to do” out of my mind. By having the business part done, I could flow right into prayer and praise and time in His word. I JUST love this!
Watch a video!
I think that is what I love so much about journaling as it can be drawn, written, or just doodling my thoughts. In my bible, I will often date it when I have created something, or when something is really on my heart and have gotten praise or prayer within that time of creating.
If you want to get started, Dayspring has some wonderful Coloring Day Planners! You can click on the link ad of Dayspring and take a look. ***(remember every time you order from this blog you help our ministry)
This year I got a smaller version size planner, and I wished I didn’t. (above) I like a little bigger space not only to write down my appointments for sessions but also room to create. So if you’re pondering the same issue…go bigger!
I love it and hope you will too. The bible I have for journaling is also on Dayspring or Amazon and all the fun goodies you can get to start. The joy of being in God’s word just got more delightful! OH…and colorful!
Here is a picture of the NEW GOAL kit if you’re into planning goals or making a vision board.
Enjoy being creative!
Love deeper, talk sweeter,
Do you have a focus word for every new year? Have you ever chosen a word you need to reflect on and make a part of your daily life?
I didn’t until two years ago and I love having this special word to remind, refresh, and renew my soul! One year I had JOY, last year I had Overcome, this year…REST!
Throughout many days in December, I asked the Lord what word do I need to focus on, draw my days around, work on for my own health, help me be a better wife, mom, and missionary? The Lord brought REST into my mind. Over and over…it just kept creeping into my mind as I was working around the ranch and our home.
So REST it is!
What does it mean for me? For one thing, it is something the Lord desires for our best. The Lord repeats it many times throughout scripture and HIS first mention of it is in the very first book,
Genesis 1:5. “God called the light “day” and the darkness “night”. And evening passed and morning came, marking the first day.” See it there? He stopped working for a time. Resting.
God goes on making land and sea, vegetation, lights in the sky our sun and moon, animals, and us. Each day He rested at the end. Our Lord didn’t run off and do something else that quickly needed to be done. He didn’t indulge in food or watching TV. He rested.
Moving onto chapter 2:2 God begins with a final detail. “On the seventh day God finished His work of creation, SO HE RESTED”(emphases mine) from all His work.”
Resting is tricky. We can easily think cleaning up the kitchen, organizing a closet or office, or folding laundry is resting. Even watching TV or playing a game as a family can be thought of as resting. I think sometimes working around the ranch is restful like picking up manure or grooming the horse. But really, that’s work, not rest.
So we have to go back to what God’s definition of rest is. It’s all about fixing our thoughts on HIM. Resting in HIM.
Taking a walk is my favorite time of resting. We live in a beautiful area of deep woods. No people, no traffic, nothing but the sound of all those things the Lord has made. Fixing my thoughts on HIM is easier when there are no distractions plus I am truly refreshed and rested when I am finished.
Resting is important to God so much so He planted it in the very beginning. He desires for HIS children to be refreshed, rejuvenated, and rested!
We can THINK that doing other things are resting but really…it’s running. In the end, you will be running into more physical and mental exhaustion. True rest. What does it look like?
Getting alone with God. whether it’s a walk, cuddling up with a good helpful book and a cup of tea, watching a sunrise or sunset, or journaling are great ways to rest your mind and body. Trail riding is always a restful time but not often work as well as it can be stressful if the boys are feisty. Plus, I love spending time with my husband but chatting away isn’t always restful. So finding and doing restful things that are accessible and best for my mind and spirit are key.
My goal for 2018 will be a year I will focus on rest. I will start my day finding verses on rest, journaling, and living my day thinking of the importance of resting in my Father’s arms. He desires the best…so I will listen and obey, peacefully and gladly!
After all, isn’t just the sound of rest give you peace? Running just feels exhausting even typing it, so why do I choose running vs. resting? Human nature I guess.
Prayerfully, I hope you too will find rest in 2018. The Lord hopes so too!
Here are some scriptures I found on REST to begin your journey…
Matthew 11: 28-30 (Favorite)
Hebrews 4:9-11 (another favorite)
There are many more…search…rest…and enjoy Jesus time!

This is such a fun project! Making a Wholly Snuffle is a perfect gift to give your dog to keep them busy for a few minutes or some even longer.
Our dog Cruz loves to have a job! Being a Border Collie he is in constant need of doing some work. If not down at the ranch working the horses, or playing with his agility course, then he has to be doing something to burn off what the Lord has given him. ENERGY and a BRAIN!
Get your fleece, scissors, and mat ready…
Cut your strips and begin…
If you order on the fabric link, our ministry will receive the proceeds!Click the LINK on the sidebar…you will be giving TWO gifts…One for your pup, and one to kids in need of healing and hope!

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased.” Luke 2:14
I have been pondering and journaling this verse all week and one word just poured over me. Peace overstress. Is it possible? Well, I believe yes! No, I CHOOSE to believe yes.
Imagine, being pregnant, or your wife is. You have to travel at the worst time because the government has an order. You get to your destination and they lost your reservation and to top it off, you go into labor so you find the next best place, a barn. (I think this would be kinda cool, but still scary)
Have you ever had so much stress in a day, a week, a month, or year? Does it ever seem like there is no hope in your situation?
The thing is, the angels on that day declared Peace on earth. God had a plan. His plan? For peace to be in people’s hearts. Yet here’s the thing, it will only impact ones who sincerely get the reality that a baby Who’s name is Jesus, came into the world for them, YOU and ME! And to accept it.
Peace only comes to ones who want to see AND experience the peace from the pressures of this world.
Just like in the Christmas story with Mary, Joseph, and their new baby we see stress. Stress happens, it builds and it seems like the struggle will never stop!
However, when we choose to have peace in the One who is Peace, He can bring calm within the storm. Flowing rapidly within your heart!
It won’t matter to you what the doctor tells you, what a person says bad about you, what is happening in the world. “The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Phill. 4:7
I personally experience this peace when I hear bad news. Having cancer. Losing my dad. My oldest deciding and becoming a police officer AND moving 1600 miles away. Plus a ton more! Stress happens daily. But it is always in the CHOICE of how we choose to deal with that stress.
How would you love to embrace a peace that nothing can pierce through? How is that possible?
First, it’s through acceptance. Accepting you are a sinner, that every day won’t be a wonderful, peachy day but you will trust God through it.
Next… and this is a tough one…do not waste time thinking things over and over in your mind. Worrying, repeating the situation in your mind, instead, choose to set “your affection on things above.” Colossians 3:2
Lastly, give thanks in every moment you can. Set your mind to bring everything to prayer instead of fretting over things you can not fix. Phill. 4:6 “In everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be known to God.” Have you Thanked GOD for a problem, situation, relationship issue, or any bad news? YES, this verse is saying IN EVERYTHING be prayerful and thankful! It’s hard, but I did this for the first time several years ago when our son almost died. I THANKED God. Why? Because within thanking Him for the 19 months I had with Mitch, I was giving him back to Jesus. God knows and HE is in control. There is SO much Peace in receiving that one truth!
God will turn all things to good…He promises!
So this season, think of the First Holy Family, starting out stressful, in a corrupt world, yet finding the peace that this new child is the born King Who is called, Prince of Peace!
May your season this year and next be filled with HIS Peace that ONLY HE CAN GIVE!
In Jesus Name!
LOVE DEEPER, TALK SWEETER,
We indeed love our coffee, tea, and cocoa especially this time of year! Being outside most of our day we fill up an air pot full of one of these beverages which sure keeps us motivated.
Indeed, having a place for my teas has been a challenge. So I asked my hubby to build me a shelf that I can put items on. I love the idea of coffee bars you see on Pinterest but none of them fit our tiny kitchen. Instead, together Dan and I created what would fit for us and of course the ranch life.
I put chalk labels on the jars for my teas so they can be anything that fits into your lifestyle. You can fill them with cocoa items, like marshmallows, cocoa in different flavors, or whatever works for you. The hooks are all different. We are in the process of making more for the Etsy Store. I am hoping to post them this week.
Another fun project was this one. WE STILL DO!
This is such a great gift idea for new married’s to already celebrating years together. The chalk on the end gives the couple a yearly tradition of changing the number of years. I prefer using chalk markers vs. chalk. Last longer, and of course the colors stand out more!
Our Etsy Store
As with everything we do, what we sell and when folks purchase from the blog, the proceeds go directly back into our ranch ministry.
When you shop with us, you are giving double!
Your purchase is one, the other is eternal!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Spread the word by sharing the blog with your loved ones. We love sharing our life with others!
God’s blessings upon each of you,
Love deeper, talk sweeter every day!

Giving a gift with a purpose that is made with the love of your hands is just plain ol’ the best! No fancy words here…it is just simply the best gift you can give. No matter the celebration, when you make it the meaning is stamped; homemade in love!
When you give a gift of purposes like making up your own blend of teas, bath and body ointments, albums, bible journaling supplies, etc…your giving something that will be encouraging good health and wellness. From the inside out!
If your first thought of making homemade gifts is coming across as cheap. Well, let me tell you first hand, it isn’t cheap when you take precious time to make a gift versus going to a mall or online and purchasing a gift. Plus, using all natural ingredients in cooking, or cosmetics is anything BUT cheap!
In the past several years, I have made gifts from blankets, wood crafts, to a special Christmas where I took pictures my dad was going to throw away and made individual albums for each of my siblings. There are seven of us. It took me 6 months to make those albums and I wouldn’t trade the long nights or cost for anything. That Christmas still holds dear to my heart watching the faces and the tears as each sibling went back into their childhood to precious memories.
Giving a homemade gift is truly a gift of love. I believe that with all my heart! So I have created this blog to some of my favorites.
Remember any items you purchase by the links or on the websites on this blog the funds help support our ministry at www.truenorthranch.orgThank you!
1.) Photo Album Ideas:
Make for individuals in your life or a special event:
Make up a KIT! Kids, grandkids…love this! Buy your album base, scallop clear album or a flip flop. I love these too by Bo Bunny. We have made Love,Friend, Family, and Believe. Maya Road makes fun minialbums and accessories too. Add ribbon, background paper, bling, whatever the theme to complete the project. I loved making one with a memory of my dad who I knew wouldn’t be with me long. Sure enough, the Lord brought him home 7 months later. GOOD thing I made a small album memory.
Flip Flop is my daughters from 2007! She loved putting memories and favorites into a cute little look.
Using this product made an incredible finish, quick and easy too! Once you decorate your plaque like your creating a scrapbook page, you just pour this mix on top and dry for 24 hours. AWESOME gift!
2.) Stocking Stuffers:
Candy bar Snowman:
Tea, Cocoa, or Coffee: Make a special blend of tea and put into a mason jar. Label and put decorative fabric on the lid. I also made up individual tea bags using organicmuslin bags for a cup of tea.
Bible journaling goodies from Dayspring
3.) A gift of HIS Word cost $10-$60 Depending on if you need to purchase a bible for this your cost will fluctuate. Dayspring has many ideas here from coloring tools, stickers, to just getting started kits. You can have stocking stuffers of smaller items like the pom poms and paper clips, and a gold gift with your bible and markers or gel pens. The BEST GIFT to give us this gift of HIS word! If you have a young person or teen in your life, this is wonderful!
4.) Quilts, blankets
No-sew blankets, quilts, and simple baby comfy and chalk mat
5.) Country Tree
6.) Lip Balm, Salves, and soaps (all using essential oils and herbs of course…NO icky fillers)
Lip balmis wonderful!
7. Bath bubbles amazing aroma!
WHEW! Lots of love here! Hope some ideas sparked for you to make your every day giving a little more special!
God’s blessings upon you!
Love deeper, talk sweeter,
These organic herbal bath bubbles(aka bombs) you will make are not only your own creation but will offer you healing as well. These bubbles are filled with fresh organic herbs to heal your body while you soak, and the aroma of the essential oils will just enhance this time for you to relax and unwind.
There is nothing more relaxing than knowing your soaking in all natural ingredients! More rewarding, is making them and giving them as a gift! This makes it extra special!
(If you want a visual click link on the bottom of page)
Each bubble is unique to your own ideas. Add herbs to give color but also think about what the herb is offering in terms of healing. There are recipes out there for these, but they put food coloring in the recipe. I just couldn’t! It would be taking away what I want to implement in my lifestyle.
The same goes for any recipe I come upon. I will change it if it has ingredients that will not benefit. YES, at times I will add the ingredient, but for the most part, I really try and find a natural way to make what I create better.
I hope you will find the bubbles fun. Here are the basic ingredients and below are other herbs and oils that will be wonderful for your spa bath.
First…you need to make yourself a cup of tea. I made my Christmas Delight tea so you can use the tea for the color to your bubble later. As the herbs were steeping I took a bit of the strained herbs into a small cup so I could add to my bubbles.
1 Cup Baking Soda
1 Cup Arrow Root Powder
1 Cup Citric Acid( I used a pestle and mortar)
1 Cup Dead Sea Salt (optional I used in one batch and omitted in another this is the part that causes the fun bubbles but can get messy…careful)
**Omit salt if you are using these in a hot tub.
Mica for sparkle
Plastic clear Christmas balls( I had one large one and one small for left over at the end to make one colorful bubble)
Time To Make:
Mix together in a steel or glass bowl. It can be fussy when not mixed well. Use a whip as well to make sure to get all the clumps out. You want a nice smooth mixture. Feels like sand!
Now pour into your dry ingredient bowl
1 Cup of Organic Coconut Oil Melted
Mix with your hands.
Now add your color using the herb of your choice. The Beet Root makes wonderful pinks and reds.
Next, add the Mica color for the sparkle if you want that.
You will want to add just enough of the above about ½ cup of your base into a separate bowl if you want different colors and oils for each bubble. So the next 2 steps you continue using only a little of your base.
4-6 drops of Essential Oilof your choice (I use only Blends as it adds so much aroma to the spa)
Herbs (suggestions below) for color 1/2 tsp or more for darker (start small and add to your liking)
Now…use your hands to mix. If it doesn’t bind in your hand than add just an eyedropper of water until it will clump.
Put your colored nice smelling mixture into one half of your ball bubble. Press firm filling it well.
If you want a different color for the other half, then get some of your bases, about ½ cup and mix in your herb for color. You won’t need any more essential oil so you may need your dropper of water for this part especially since you added drier ingredient with your herb.
Continue to mix and clump and fill your other half. Both half balls should be chuck full of mixture and now put them together forming your bubble. Carefully pull one half off, flip into your palm, and take off the other half. Lay on a tray and let dry for 10-20 minutes.
Now you got beautiful bubbles to add to your bath or give as gifts!
Let dry on a tray for 24 hours. Wrap in saran wrap and keep in cool place. If they fall apart just squish a little together back into a ball. Mine did a little bit and cracked but went back in to patch up.
A perfect bubble ball filled with goodness and gives you a wonderful spa experience.
Herbs for Color Choices:
Saffron (yellows) Expensive
Christmas Delight Tea (reds, pink)
Rose Petals, (grind for color keep whole for a pretty top)
Lavender whole (add for the smell, not color)
Beet Root Powder (reds, pinks)
Carrot Powder or juice (orange)
Matcha Powder or Nettles Powder (green)
Blueberry Juice (purple)
Put the whole herbs in the bottom of your bubble when forming to give a pretty look.
Essential Oil Blends:
I usedFitness Blend full of wonderful oils. Grapefruit, Lemon, Mint, Cinnamon Bark, Celery Seed, Ginger Root AMAZING!
Aligning…GO TO oil ( like a chiropractor in a bottle)… Rosewood, Spruce, Frankincense, German/Roman Chamomile Mix WOW! My husband’s favorite!
Citrus Blend…Orange, Grapefruit, lemon, Lime AWESOME in my daily water intake! LOVE this oil!
Single Essential oils that you would enjoy in your bubbles:
HAVE fun making your bubbles for you or for gifts! I hope you will make them with a child…so fun to teach them about healthy living and how each herb does something amazing for your body!
God bless you!

As Advent is now approaching this word just fills my soul! Promises. It is a word that when you hear it you either feel a sense of hope, or you immediately remember a promise that was broken and the sound of the word makes you upset, angry, or maybe abandon. Your trust for that person or group of people has left you with a permanent mark.
As a result of either experience, let’s look at the promises fulfilled and bring us to a place of trusting once again in Someone Who never forgets a promise.
Advent is a time of recalling the promises of God. Promises to remember what God had told His people long ago would happen. The whole Old Testament is filled with the promises of God. A promise to Abraham he would Father as many descendants as the stars in the sky. Genesis 15. A promise to the Israelites they will be taken out of slavery and see the promised land. Exodus 12
A promise to HIS people He will send a Counselor, Peacemaker, a King, a Savior. Isaiah 9
In the New Testament, we begin with a Promise fulfilled in the birth of a Child, Who has come to save the world. God sends the Perfect Promise. Jesus.
Yes our God keeps His promises and it truly is what gives me hope every day! I put tabs on my bible with the words PROMISE so on those down days, I can quickly go to them.
Humans not so much. Humans simply cannot do what God can do. We promise breakers. WHY? Because of our selfish ways, our own agenda, or simply life in general. We cannot fulfill all the promises that our family and friends would love for us to do.
In ministry, working with teens especially, making promises is a NO NO! First, they most likely already came from a place of abandonment. Consequently telling them I will do something or give them something when I am not sure, just leaves an open door for lack of trust.
Instead, I trained myself to respond, “I will try” or simply “that will not work for me I won’t be able to that.” Being honest and open breeds trust and a stronger relationship in the future.
This goes for any relationship. Young or old…do not make a promise we simply do not have the capability like God to see the future.
With our Lord Jesus coming as a baby, God’s promise and plan was being fulfilled. Imagine all the people in the Old Testament that heard about this prophecy of a Savior coming, but it didn’t happen in their lifetime. Some lost hope in the wait. Some even left the faith altogether.
But for the ones who hung on, without sight, without the story of a baby in a manger Who is called King of Kings and Light of the World, those individuals are rejoicing in heaven with HIM. They may not see Jesus or read about Him in the what we call the Bible now, but they are experiencing the same Hope we will soon have.
We too have not seen the Lord Jesus in the flesh, but we have this side of the cross where we know what happened and what will happen due to His Holy Word.
We have the story. We have the facts. We have the proof. We have Jesus, who came as a baby, walked the earth as a man, and died on a cross to save us from our sins.
We are on this side of the cross with the WHOLE picture.
I know there are folks who have had promise after promise broken and they have given up hope…TRUST. I get that. I have had people do the same to me. But…they are human. Jesus is not. He is God our Savior who paid a price. The price of dying a horrible death for my sins. Every time I get angry, or gossip, or hurt someone I picture Jesus being beaten. His painful death.
I know there are folks out there that don’t think they sin. They feel they are good people. I don’t think anyone who says that understands when they hurt someone by words or actions that is a sin. Or when they have told a “white lie” it is still a lie.
There is not one human being who can say they have held the 10 commandments perfectly. Not one. We are not perfect and without sin. Hence we need of a Savior. A promise kept that has everlasting, eternal rewards. I can’t wait to meet my Promise Keeper! Can you?
This advent season whether you are alone, or have a family, take this time to research all the promises in the bible. I can make one promise because it has come true for me and thousands of others. You will not be disappointed or feel abandoned.
Isaiah 40:31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not dismay, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my right hand.

Living on the Promises of God today and every day!
In Jesus name,
Love deeper, talk sweeter and walk-in HOPE,
**The picture in this post is of a young teen who was building trust with the horse. She was understanding through the horse’s response how trust in a relationship begins with herself. She must be consistent, patient, kind, and be a partner, not a boss. This teen 3 years later experienced a trial of a loss so huge! To get through such a trial took trust and faith in Jesus Christ, promising her Hope!
Our homemade Christmas ornaments always reflect our lives. Of course, if you’re making an ornament or card for someone, you may change it up a bit for their personality or yours.
Our western life and faith give a taste of who we are and what we love to share.
We hope the ideas below spark some ideas.
The ornament is made with a clear bulb and rubs on letters. Easy peasy…I love attaching the ornaments onto a gift. Just brings a little sparkle.
The Stamping’ Up products I get from a friend of mine. Here is her linkif you don’t have a demonstrator.
The card is using:
Real Red Card stock
Basic Black Card stock
Shimmery White Card stock
Glimmery Paper with Background
2″ circle punch
Basic Black Ink Pad
White Craft Ink Pad
cardboard letters I cut out using my Big Shot and small die cut
Set of Wild Horses
Simply stamp your image onto your glittery white card stock. Mine had an image on it but you sure can use an embossing folder to create your own.
Punch out image
Chalk as you like
Layered using dots or pop-ups
Painted my letters with White craft ink
While still wet you can add some dazzling diamond glitter.
I placed letters to look like NOEL and used pop-ups for them too.
Layer your card and you’re done!
This one is easy peasy!
You will need:
Real Red Card Stock
Shimmery White Card Stock
Sweater embossing Folder
Pine Cone framelits
Do all your Big Shot things first
Pine Cones, a banner of choice, and your sweater
Mount and layer your card stock and create with your cut outs. Such a simple card, and so COZY too!
My sister got into this homemade card making and she loves it! Especially Christmas! I just got this in the mail today and it made my day!
Ornaments are pretty easy nowadays with clear bulbs. I especially like the flat ones as you can fill them easily and put the rub on letters on easier too.
Rub on are pretty popular…here is some ideas.
Making something special is always rewarding and a great expression of LOVE!

When I got into bible journaling, I began simply with just buying the NIVBibleJournaling book and some colored pencils. Which by the way are awesome! I can watercolor or just color with these and they are amazing. I also enjoyed getting out the sparkly gel penstoo.
But when I saw what Dayspring had in their packets and kits, I came into a whole new world of journaling!
What I love so much about them is really, they keep me organized in finding certain words.
For example, I like how the tabs are on the top that I can label frustration, forgiveness, worried, angry, or love. I can quickly go to those spots when one of those words are in my life. Or someone else that I can give them a verse.
I adore these pom poms….just because!
Another item I didn’t know how to use right away I now find amazing! These clear transfers can be used as you see below as an overlay.
I love this! I can have this colorful page that I attach with wasabi tape (Dayspring has) and add my own note on top or prayer. It is especially cool when the page has already been drawn on.
The best part about bible journaling is how wonderful this is to share with young kids but really for teens. I know through the years of doing ministry with teens getting into the Word of God is hard for them.
Bible journaling is a wonderful way to let them express creatively what their thoughts are or to remember what God is trying to teach them.
The kits make great gifts. The Advent kitis wonderful! I highly recommend this for stocking stuffers for next year…or a St. Nick gift on December 6th. (You place one shoe outside the door and fill with goodies) Traditions are so fun!
Remember if you click on the Dayspring link on this blog and the other links, proceeds from your purchase goes to support our ranch ministry.
When you explore all Dayspring has to offer, you will be hooked on this wonderful way of doing devotions as well as how they provide some wonderful gift ideas!
Thank you in advance, for clicking on the links from this blog to help us reach kids and teens in need1
God’s blessings upon you as you live life for Jesus!

This is such a simple and fun thing to make! These doggy bandanas make awesome gifts for ANY dog lover!
If you don’t like to sew, I have an ETSY store and you can just purchase them. Free shipping too.
BUT, if you like to sew well here ya go!
First, pick your favorite fabric. I love Fabric.com Measure an even square for your size pup. I do mostly 14″ to 16″ as my dog is a medium size pup. It really doesn’t matter if it comes out smaller as you make this bandana for the collar to go through. Easy off for washing or switching to another fun bandana.
Perfect square evenly measuring all the way around. (I did 18″ here for a BIG dog)
Sew a 1/4″ seam on your corners. Right SIDE should face up. I sewed and back stitched a couple of times on both ends because of how many times a collar could be put in and out of this area. Allowing extra support.
Sew 1/4″ seam around your triangle making sure right sides together, and you start and stop at your sewn corners. Leave the openings and reverse your bandana when done.
Once you sew on your line you can wipe off the mark with water. This will be the hole for the collar to go through.
Enjoy making these! They are super fun to sew, give as gifts, and to interchange for seasons or occasions!

Living in Minnesota this time of year can be brutal on our skin. With this wonderful homemade lip gloss recipe using only natural ingredients, will help your lips be protected from harsh conditions. PLUS, it is all natural using fresh herbs even in the color and luster shine! Can you believe how herbs give color?
SO FUN TOO!
Here is what you will need:
1/4 Cup of Infused Oil (recipe below)
3 tablespoons of shea butter
4 tablespoons of Beeswax
2 teaspoonscocoa powder(optional)
2 teaspoons of Honey
15 drops of your favorite essential oils (peppermint, orange, grapefruit, tangerine)
1/4 teaspoons Vitamin E Oil
Stardust MicaBeet Root (adds the color, you will add 1/8 tsp at a time to your color desire)
1.) Mix first 5 ingredients together and heat in double boiler until hot and melted.
2.) After it’s melted, add essential oil and cocoa powder or Beet Root.
3.) Next, add your Vitamin E oil and your Mica color. I use Red…I only use about 1/8 tsp but you can add more if you really like BLING!
4.) Pour into your lip gloss containers. If you want to use different colors you can pour the mixture into different cups, but work fast as it does set. You may have to reheat to get to the liquid form to pour easily.
I didn’t do this and the balm got lumpy and not smooth.
*** peppermint oil and the cocoa powder make great gifts for anyone on your list
One of my Infused Oil DIY
The herbs below are wonderful for your infused oils the one * is the DIY link.
Beet Root ( want this for your color too)
Hibiscus ( this is an EVERYTHING herb for your tea blending)
Another way to infuse herbs into an oil:
1. Fill a glass jar 1/3 full with equal parts of each herb. Cover herbs in coconut oil, melted. Place lid on the jar.
2. Set jar on top of the towel in a crockpot filled with water, on a warm setting for 3 days. Watch water level and be very careful not to put cool water on a hot jar, as it could explode.
3. On the third day, remove the jar from heat, let cool, and strain your herbs. Squeeze well to get every nutrient from your herbs. Now you have an Herbal Infused Oil! Label and put in dark place.
So much fun making these for me and my loved ones!
Hope you find it just as enjoyable!

Don’t you just love receiving a homemade thank you card?
Especially one you didn’t expect to receive? I DO!
BUT most of all…I love making them!
This last week I had to get on the horn and make some long overdue thank you cards and of course, I have to make it a little country, a little ranch like, and touches of the season.
These cards are using mostly background papers that I find online HERE
There are so many background papers to choose from you can really go crazy! I do like to buy them in big bulk packages as they provide more for my money. Plus, the variety in that one pack is huge and sparks some creativity!
So…here is the scoop on how I put these together:
I made up a template for the jean pocket and used my favorite vintage card stock for the tags. I made my own tags but you can also purchase them already done too.
Of course, enjoying the ranch life we have to have cowboy type background paper.
Using inks from Stamping’ Up! and thank you stamps, I added distressing color to the outside of the card and directly on the card. This gives the old-time look. (when you purchase from SU! you really get the BEST of inks and card stock, my personal preference) The ink I used was More Mustard.
Finally, I give the card an overall look by stitching around the edges from my sewing machine. I didn’t do this to all of them, but looking at it, I like it better. It added a ton to the overall look.
Hope you find making special thank you cards to your loved ones and friends, brings them joy as well as knowing how much you care for them.
Making homemade cards is truly a great gift you can give to anyone!
Spark someone you love today with a homemade thank you card!
Love deeper, talk sweeter,
I am pondering on this incredibly beautiful fall morning, do we really understand all the Lord provides? Do we really rest in contentment or do we really always want more? Do we really realize all we have on this earth? Do we really need so many THINGS, STUFF, REALLY?
Something to think about. Something to look at yourself about. And…if changes need to be made, well today is the day!
I look at this place that was built on our ranch this year and this last weekend we finished putting the log stabilizers in place. The roof was being held up by metal poles and support beams that were only temporary and in fact kinda ugly. BUT, they were doing their job and of course, that is more important! Now, with the logs in place, this cute little Tack Shack has a whole new look! A place I could literally call home! What can I REALLY get by living with or without? My hubby and I sat on the deck of this shack looking out and truly I have come to a place in my life I don’t need half of what we have. We both agreed we could move our bed and couch and live in this shack and be totally comfortable. BUT, 10 years ago…I don’t think I could of. I was in a different place. I wasn’t grown up enough in the Lord to stop and rest and be fully content.
In the world of needing and wanting more. I struggle with ones who call themselves believers in Jesus Christ that strive for more. They share “I need more money to pay the bills.” And I think to myself, don’t live beyond your means. I know, I’ve done it. A little-known truth, if you spend more than you make there are consequences. Again, I know, I had them, BIG TIME!
I have also been hearing and reading that one can be so much more “at peace” when you are financially secure. I don’t see that anywhere in the Bible where one has peace because they don’t have to worry about money. “For the love of money is the root of all evil. Some people eager for money, have wandered from the faith and have pierced themselves with many griefs.” 1 Timothy 6:10 Now that is a truth to ponder on yourself. If you own a business, do you share this truth from HIS word or do you share the world’s view? Peace shows up 249 times in the Bible and none of the passage refers to peace in the way the world would define it as. Money is the ROOT of problems and PEACE comes from contentment in all the Lord provides us not what STUFF can provide.
I have lived in a world of wanting more. If I had… then I would….or could…
Not any more. The MORE Jesus I have in my daily life, REALLY the less of the world I desire.
My hubby and I are moving to a slower, easier, lesser lifestyle in homesteading. We are working towards moving to the ranch in just a one bedroom, one living room, one kitchen, one bathroom, above a barn. Simple living, less of the world, and resting in our Jesus in all HE provides.
I pray you too will seek less and encourage others to strive for only more of WHOM can give the abundant lifestyle! Jesus truly, REALLY is the most peaceful place to be!
God bless you as you strive for less!
Love deeper, talk sweeter, and live a peaceful day,
In the midst of going through a really difficult time, have you ever had anyone tell you “thank God for this situation”? Or “God has a purpose for your suffering right now.”
Have you in return wanted to just belt them one? Or simply be just so angry you walk away and think to yourself, “they have no idea what I am going through.”
I can tell you I have been on both sides. I know the feeling of going through something so difficult I thought my world was falling apart. And at that moment, it seems NOTHING anyone says will comfort me.
But I also have been with people suffering through tough things and in the right timing, I have stated the above. WHY? How can I be so thoughtless? On the contrary, it is bringing someone to the place that they are not in control and to bring them to the place of Jesus who IS.
The Bible tells us, “we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to HIS purpose for them. “ Romans 8:28
When looking at this verse and going through trials in our lives, it is important to fall back on the word of the Lord. NOW, if someone I knew was not a follower of Jesus Christ, I would not share such thoughts at that time. They simply would not understand. But for one who has given their heart to Jesus, it is in times of trials we see that God does have a purpose for everything that HE allows.
We, of course, cannot see it at the time. That is where faith comes in. Hebrews 11:1, “Faith shows the reality of what we hope for, it is the evidence of things we cannot see.” We have NO idea what God is up to and all we can fall back on is FAITH…because that is what HE tells us to do and we wait and HOPE.
The Lord promises, Oh taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is the man who takes refuge in HIM.” Psalm 34:8
Do you see that? WE who hang onto to Jesus during a trial are called BLESSED! He is good no matter what. So, therefore, now here is the hard part…GIVE THANKS!
Give thanks for this incredible trial! Are you nuts?
Let’s go back to what the Lord says, “give thanks to the Lord for HE is good.” Psalm 136:1
Imagine your in the hospital room with your dying child and your head is bowed, tears flowing, rocking yourself in sadness, and your saying out loud:
“I am giving thanks to you Oh Lord, for YOU alone are good. You alone are Master; You alone are the Great Physician. I give this child to you. Thank you for allowing this as I know you will cause all things to work together for Your good. I will trust in you alone and by faith will wait on You.”
Praying aloud, giving God the glory in the trial will give you peace as you place it all in HIS hands.
Is it easy? We are not promised easy on this side of heaven.
Will all things go away in that trial? Probably not.
Will your faith be stronger? Mine was.
Will you look back on the trial and see God’s GOODNESS and FAITHFULNESS? I did!
Can you share with someone else that same trial you went through to help him or she hold on during their trial? They too will TASTE AND SEE that HE is good!
I believe we all go through trials to share with others who face trials that God fulfills all His promises. It sometimes takes your story and sharing it with another for that person to get through their trial. Don’t be afraid to share.
So many are hurting and need to hear that God is GOOD even when they can’t see it!
God’s blessings upon you.
Love deeper, talk sweeter and share God’s love and HOPE!
As I sit here with my Frankincense oil and my cup of yummy PumpkinCream tea reading my bible, the Lord brought something to my mind as my heart is stirring over a decision my husband I need to make.
“ The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. Do not be like a senseless horse or mule that needs a bit and bridle to keep it under control.” Psalm 32:8-9
Every day I have to make decisions. Some are simple really. Just organizing my day to get as many tasks and “fires” off my list. But some, well, are more difficult.
I am bad at directions and often am bad at being given direction. So, I have to depend on my GPS in my car. If it’s a new place for SURE I need it! It’s easy to just plug in the address and off we go as the little female voice tells me how to get there. And I trust it most of the time.
It is so funny to read this verse today as I ride through the trails. Bokoda is going where I want him to go by a hug on one leg and when he chooses the wrong way, like heading toward a tree, I engage a grip on the rein so he feels pressure on his bit. He moves right away because it hurts. Like the verse, Jesus is my guide and when I take a wrong turn, the Lord puts that pressure so I will hopefully turn to HIS direction, HIS path not mine. When I do choose my way it does hurt.
We have to decide on some things in ministry that will affect many people. We sit and pray and ask the Lord to reveal HIS best interest, not ours. By going to HIM we are submitting our own will to HIS. You see the Lord is omnipresent. He knows all things past present and future. He knows what will be best in the long scheme of things and HE even knows and will protect the ones affected by that change. I often want to know that detail the Lord has. But, it doesn’t work that way. Look at this verse which I did for my bible journaling. “The Lord directs our steps, so why try to understand everything along the way?” Proverbs 20:24
This is when talking to the Lord just gets humorous sometimes. He just speaks through HIS word and gives me peace. SO awesome!
(Proverbs 3:5-6) Another great verse! I follow my own path when I don’t want to change. When I don’t want to work harder or the change is asking more of me somehow. I follow the path of SELF and every time that path leads to consequences. So why don’t I learn? Well, like the horse, we are on a journey. Because of our sin nature, we are selfish and need a Savior! We need to confess our own ways and allow the Lord to be our Master and tour Guide through life. It’s hard, but always worth it!
Unlike the GPS in the car, or the bit in the horse’s mouth our Lord has a promise.
“I will protect you wherever you go.” Genesis 28:15 The GPS lady can’t make that promise as she directs me to the destination. I can’t fulfill protection on the horse when I direct him through a trail.
However, my Jesus can promise HE will guide and tell me the BEST path. He will WATCH over me and he will protect. These are big words for big decisions and today is another day to make decisions.
So asking Jesus every step along the way for HIS idea and bthe est path is truly the best decision ANYONE can make.
Enjoy making many decisions and may you get your direction from the Lord to give you peace as well!
Love deeper, talk sweeter and pray always!

2 Timothy 2: 15-21
Are you a hard worker? Do you struggle to stay focused while on the job? Have you ever gone on Facebook, or “went shopping” online while on work hours?
Are late to work or appointments?
Are you giving your employer 100% of yourself?
The things above you know in your heart would be wrong to do as you know while on your bosses time is work time and not your own.
As I read this scripture today and am looking at my work in ministry, I asked myself a question.
Am I an Approved Worker for our Lord Jesus Christ!
If we are honest, whether you work outside the home for an earthly boss, or are a stay at home worker, we ultimately work for Jesus if we call ourselves believers in Jesus Christ. What we do every day is ministry! If we are a stay at home mom or dads, work outside the home, volunteer our time, all is “working for Jesus,” our ultimate BOSS.
I have to always make sure I begin my day with prayer, seeking if I am right with the Lord. What I need to repent of and ask for forgiveness. In this passage, I read, “The Lord knows those who are His, and all who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil.” Verse 18. NLT. Every day, even throughout the day, we all must do a double check on ourselves. Am I turning away from evil, things that make my faith, Jesus, look bad? Am I being an example of Christ? Am I honoring HIS name in all I do and say?
The passage goes on in verse 20, “In a wealthy home some utensils are made of gold and silver, and some are made of wood and clay. The expensive utensils are used for special occasions, and the cheap ones are for everyday use. 21 If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.” Did you catch the last part? A special utensil. Are you a special worker for the Lord Have you cleaned yourself up so HE can use you today? In this verse, Jesus our Master expects that we are to remove our old ways. (The wood and the clay utensils) What habits did you have before you were a believer? Swearing, heavy partier, revengeful, self-pity party, late to work, pride. What was the sin you keep falling into? If you want to be that SPECIAL UTENSIL (Gold and Silver) for Jesus today, take this time to repent, ask for forgiveness, and tell Jesus you desire to be HIS, clean, golden, and ready for use!
May Jesus POUR over HIS blessings upon you today!
