Healing, Health, Living Naturally

A year ago you could find in my search engine what do I do for…? What do I use for…you name the illness or problem I googled it.

Over and over the same things were popping up and of course more information about healthy eating and supplements were becoming a common name. There has to be something to this I thought. Our family had already implemented the supplements with Plexus and found great results, but now and than the cold or flu bug would hit us.

I found the key for me was getting to the ROOT of the issue AS SOON AS the little bug would creep in. First sneeze. First scratchy throat. First…you name it…get on top of it! Using the remedies of natural herbs for teas and tinctures and the essence of using essential oils. SO key!

Through many trial and errors last year I made a commitment to do two things.
ONE: Use only natural cleaning supplies that I make with baking soda, vinegar, Borax, and Rocky Mountain Essential Oils.( RMO)

TWO: I stopped buying boxed items, processed type foods,(doing the best we can with occasional frozen pizza) put all powders and the like into mason jars keeping storage fresh, and making my own herbal teas and tinctures to keep our bodies fighting the bugs. We also began taking daily supplements, one being most important, PROBIOTICS! I love either RMO or Plexus.

With these two things implemented in our lives, it has made a world of difference. Putting tinctures that are specifically labeled, for cough, cold, nerve pain, sore throat, and tummy issues into our tea has REALLY been a game changer.

**Now, I can’t claim these remedies will work for you as I am no doctor, but as a wife and mom, just trying them has worked for us. I hope it will for you too!

It took a whole day for me to make these, but it was awesome to have them ready to go when I needed them. In the fall, I do it again having a fresh supply.

Especially ones I know we will go through…like Elderberry Syrup!  HAVE to have that on hand!

All tincture recipes you can find on Bulk Herb Store.  I will put below my favorites and must haves.

If you are unsure about any of the products, or think I am crazy, well, our family is healthier than ever and our animals as well.
We give the horses their daily immune strength mixture of herbs and our bunnies too. If my dog has diarrhea I again will apply natural teas to his food. It works! Of course, nature is God’s idea and of course healing so DAH…why wouldn’t it work?

Here are my favs to have on hand:

Cough:
Calendula Tincture 2-3 drops into your HOT tea
I put the drops into my cup so when I pour my hot water over my tea blend it mixes up.
Honey is on the bottom too.

Headaches/Aches and Pains:
Chamomile: Helps ease menstrual cramps, improve sleep, relieves headache and soothe frayed nerves.
1/2 to 1 cup of Chamomile flowers follow directions below… (I also add White Willow Bark, helps headaches) Mix the herbs before putting in jar.

Tummy and Digestion:
1/2 dried peppermint leaves
1/4 cup dried ginger root (LOVE this stuff have it in most of my tea blends)
1/4 cup fennel seeds

Make your tincture by filling a jar 1/3-1/2 full of herbs.
Use 1/3 for hard herbs and roots (they absorb more) and 1/2 for soft and fluffy herbs. Fill jar to the top with alcohol (80-90 proof Vodka is best), close it and store for 3-8 weeks in a Coll, dry pale. Shake jar daily. After the weeks, strain and discard the herb, bottle the liquid and label it.
The alcohol is evaporated b the hot water so pregnant moms can use it too. Vinegar can be used as well, but it does not draw out the herb’s properties as well. This recipe is on the Bulk Herb Store site.

NEXT have your tea blends all ready to go in jars. Prepare now, so when the bug hits, you got your remedy ready to go!

Sniffle Tea:
1 Cup Thyme
1/4 Cup Ginger Root
1/2 Cup Echinacea
1/3 Cup  Spearmint
1/3 Cup Rose Hibs (must have great on hand herb)
1/3 Cup Orange Peel
Mix and place in your favorite mason jar!

Headache Tea:
1 Cup of White Willow Bark
1 Cup of Echinacea Purpurea
1/2 Cup Raspberry Leaf
1/2 Cup Hibiscus
1/3 Cup Peppermint
1/3 Cup Orange Peel or Lemon
Mix and place in your jar!
For how to make tea, check out the Art of Making Tea on my blog!

Any of these herbs blended you will find will help. I recommend preparing your tea and drinking it throughout the day. For our family it truly has been a wonderful way to heal!

Use RMO Essential Oils to place on your neck and forehead or diffuse:

Immune Strength
Peppermint
Clove (MUST HAVE)
Ginger
Eucalyptus (Must HAVE) steam one drop in boiling water and inhale…sinus and colds symptoms have totally went away for me.

Here is another link for you to get some wonderful tips on using essential oils!

SPECIAL NOTE:
Like with all organic herbs and essential oils you need to take precautions for your own knowledge. We recommend you consult with a qualified healthcare practitioner before using herbal products especially if you are pregnant, nursing, or on any medications. To be healthy takes being wise with your own health needs.

I hope these ideas help you and your family be on the way to a healthier way of life!

Bible Journaling, Healing, Ministry, Peace

In the midst of going through a really difficult time, have you ever had anyone tell you “thank God for this situation”. Or “God has a purpose for your suffering right now.”

Have you in return wanted to just belt them one? Or simply be just so angry you walk away and think to yourself, “they have no idea what I am going through.”

I can tell you I have been on both sides. I know the feeling of going through something so difficult I thought my world was falling apart. And in that moment, it seems NOTHING anyone says will comfort me.

But I also have been with people suffering through tough things and in the right timing I have stated the above. WHY? How can I be so thoughtless? On the contrary, it is bringing someone to the place that they are not in control and to bring them to the place of Jesus who IS.

The bible tells us, “we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to HIS purpose for them. “ Romans 8:28

When looking at this verse and going through trials in our lives, it is important to fall back on the word of the Lord. NOW, if someone I knew was not a follower of Jesus Christ, I would not share such thoughts at that time. They simply would not understand. But for one who has given their heart to Jesus, it is in times of trials we see that God does have a purpose for everything that HE allows.

We of course cannot see it at the time. That is where faith comes in. Hebrews 11:1, “Faith shows the reality of what we hope for, it is the evidence of things we cannot see.” We have NO idea what God is up to and all we can fall back on is FAITH…because that is what HE tells us to do and we wait and HOPE.

The Lord promises, Oh taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is the man who takes refuge in HIM.” Psalm 34:8

Do you see that? WE who hang onto to Jesus during a trial are called BLESSED! He is good no matter what. So therefore, now here is the hard part…GIVE THANKS!
WHAT?
Give thanks for this incredible trial! Are you nuts?

Let’s go back to what the Lord says, “give thanks to the Lord for HE is good.” Psalm 136:1

Imagine your in the hospital room with your dying child and your head is bowed, tears flowing, rocking yourself in sadness, and your saying out loud:

“I am giving thanks to you Oh Lord, for YOU alone are good. You alone are Master; You alone are the Great Physician. I give this child to you. Thank you for allowing this as I know you will cause all things to work together for Your good. I will trust in you alone and by faith will wait on You.”
Praying aloud, giving God the glory in the trial will give you peace as you place it all in HIS hands.

Is it easy? We are not promised easy on this side of heaven.

Will all things go away in that trial? Probably not.

Will your faith be stronger? Mine was.

Will you look back on the trial and see God’s GOODNESS and FAITHFULNESS? I did!

Can you share with someone else that same trial you went through to help him or her hold on during their trial? They too will TASTE AND SEE that HE is good!

I believe we all go through trials to share with others who face trials that God fulfills all His promises. It sometimes takes your story and sharing it with another for that person to get through their trial. Don’t be afraid to share.

So many are hurting and need to hear that God is GOOD even when they can’t see it!

God’s blessings upon you.

Love deeper, talk sweeter and share God’s love and HOPE!

Healing, Hope

Life isn’t always happiness and joy – there are times when you need powerful prayers for healing and for change. The Bible speaks often of miraculous healing through the work of Jesus Christ and through faith in God. Finding Scripture that will encourage you and help you focus on finding comfort through the healing of Christ both spiritually and physically is a powerful tool to heal. Here are a few scriptures focused on healing.

Matthew 11:28 NIV

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Psalms 107: 19-21 NIV
“Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave. Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind.”

Isaiah 53: 4-5 NIV
“Surely, he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”

Mark 5:34 NIV

“He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”

Revelations 21:4 NIV

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

1 Peter 2:24 NIV

“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”

1 Corinthians 15:43 NIV
“Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength.”

3 John 1:2 NIV

“Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.”

Healing, Hope

Mark 5:21-39

This bible passage is overwhelming me right now! It’s our son’s 20th and here is why.

Imagine Jairus, a leader of the local synagogue PLEADING with Jesus. A man whom all Jairus co-workers hated. Why was he pleading and pleading fervently my NLT states? Because his daughter was dyeing. He didn’t care what people thought. What consequences would come from him approaching Jesus. He just wanted his daughter well.

Have you ever been there? Have you ever gone before the holy throne Pleading fervently for some hope, answers, rescue?

We have. But sadly at the time I wasn’t a believer. I was only going through the motions. Church on Sunday, pray before meals, doing the church motions when needed, but no REAL relationship with Jesus.

Until I had a crisis. My child was dyeing. My child was in need of healing. I pleaded fervently, but sadly the bible states in John 9:31 “We know that God doesn’t listen to sinners, but He is ready to hear those who worship Him and do his will.”

I was a sinner. I am a sinner now. What is the difference to Him hearing my prayers now verses than? The Lord woke me up during that time. He used this crisis to draw myself closer to Him. He allowed this time of suffering for our son and us to say, “to Whom do you serve?” I was serving only me. No relationship with Jesus. Not admitting I needed a Savior. Not forgiving ones who hurt me or confessing I am nothing without Him.

Our son did get a miracle. He did survive. But I believe it was not because of my prayers. It was because of the many who were believers. The many who sat and pleated fervently before the Lord as they were worshipping Him and doing His will. Jesus says to Jairus, “don’t be afraid, just have faith.”

Faith is believing. Faith is not just doing the motion and never repenting. Going about our own ways not God’s ways. Choosing what is best for us, instead of asking the Lord what is best. That is clear sign of a person not doing God’s will.

Faith is encompassing His word and truth and allowing the truths to make you change not run away, get angry, or worse yet only take what “feels good”.

“Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.” Hebrews 11:1. Another words, faith is trusting full heartily the Lord is in control of the situation and YOU and ME! Faith is letting God do HIS work, HIS way and our job is to let Him and repent.

Jesus healed the young girl just before He met Jairus’ need. Jesus asked for what from the girl? FAITH… that is what made her well.! Now look at what came next. This was huge to me. Jesus asked ONLY Peter, James, and John to go with Him. Not because they were special, but because they had FAITH and believed this girl was not dead and Jesus was in control. The crowds laughed. But in a few minutes only believers witnessed the miracle. She was asked by our Savior to get up and she did!

It is only by grace that it took another 3 years before I was reading my bible and the passage consumed my heart. “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. 23 But I will reply, I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws. It was at that moment I fell to my knees, and confessed, and cried out, “no more Jesus. I am yours. I repent of my selfish ways. Make me new, and change me.” THREE years AFTER the crisis. What took so long? PRIDE.

I am thankful to this day for 2 things. ONE that He used such a trial to wake me up. I do thank Him now and then for our son getting sick to the point of near death to save me. (another hard thing to do is thank the Lord for a trial, but realizing He will do something amazing in it)

TWO, for the believers who were praying for a miracle. It was their pleading fervently that the Lord heard. Not mine, not my husband (even though he met Jesus a week later in recovery that saved him. It didn’t take him 3 years) But believers.

I know this may seem hard to understand or even for some to be offended. But I believe the bible is true. The WHOLE bible even the parts that are hard to hear or read. The parts that make us realize who we are in Jesus eyes. A sinner, in need of a Savior! If you’re offended, I get it. I was there. It is good to be offended like the Pharisee’s were. BUT, don’t continue to be a Pharisee like in the passage in Matt. 7:21…You have the choice to change all of that.

Our son is 22 today. It has been 20 YEARS. He was given a second chance. WE ALL WERE! How amazing is our God!

God loves you!

Love deeper, talk sweeter and open your heart to where to go from here,

WINDY Whirlwind Worship

To say it is windy outside is putting it VERY mildly! We have gusts going up to 40 mph! CRAZY! And annoying!

But what is really annoying? When the Lord brings a word to you during your morning devo.

I like to now and than, get my daily devo from James McDonalds Walk in the Word. I am on his email lists and when I am not in a series, I like to use his.

Today James brought us to Hosea 8:7 and I have never thought of this whole passage quite like he had shared. And did it EVER hit me…

James had brought up Jacob and his lying to his brother Esau and his father Isaac. Jacob was a deceiver for sure. Later when Jacob wanted to marry Rachel but was deceived by his father in law, tricked just like Jacob had done in his younger years and got Leah instead…well…the whirlwind came onto Jacob.

How the Lord allows our strongholds, sin to somehow be used in our lives to show us what we are doing and whom we are hurting. This whole passage draws me to seeing how I can make idols out of human hands instead of worshipping and adoring my Jesus. This passage draws on how I can use hurtful words to someone, and those same words come back onto me by someone else and I see what I had done. That sin comes back around and bites like a strong wind.

This picture is an image I got online. I think it is a stamp, but I thought it was a perfect picture. My umbrella turning inside out and the wind biting me! This just fit and I love how it turned out!

May you see this passage as a place to repent (I put a tab on the top to remind me) and whenever the wind blows, may it bring you to a place to look to Jesus, repent, and ask the Lord to remind you of the strongholds in your life.

Have a great day!

Love Deeper, talk sweeter!
