Overcome Fear Through A Horse
Being in God’s word is really the only thing I can do to overcome my fear of something. Learning from Bokoda, our Haflinger horse has taught me many things I do that simply don’t work. One…RUN! Fear will not go away. Fear will just keep coming back and learning to confront will help overcome. Bokoda is a prey animal. He hears or sees something he thinks could kill him, he will run. It’s instinct. To save his life he is wired to run. God created horses to save themselves they must run away as fast as they can! For us, NO. What does running do? For me, I have had broken relationships because I didn’t want to deal with it anymore. I have situations that I didn’t want to get hurt again, so the answer was to run away, instead of confronting. I felt like the situation was impossible to fix or reconcile. But I forgot one truth. Brokenness and fear fester deep within when things are unresolved. The fear actually gets worse! Remembering a truth… “For the Heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your way and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:9 When I embraced the truth and thought was impossible, became God’s possible. Since fear has no power over me as I have Jesus to help me overcome this major little word, I can indeed run to Jesus in the midst of fear vs. running away. When we have Christ, He takes over. Indeed there is not only power in that alone, but what a promise we can hold on to! With Christ, we can overcome ANY fear! A bad diagnosis, a new change in life, loss of someone dear to us and being alone. You name it. Jesus’ has them all! What a wonderful gift we have of art and being creative in our bibles. Below is a video on my new love…Gelatos! WOW! They are SO fun! There are many ways to use them and here I am showing one of many. Devo creations verses: Matthew 6:25-34 Psalm 60:2-4 Overlays are from Dayspring…click the link on the sidebar Gesso Gelatos Toolset Gelatos Set In the video, there are some blurred images. Sorry about that! Also, the page I created is in Psalms, not Isaiah. I was all over the Bible that day and got caught up in the moment. I hope you find it helpful and maybe even giving you the power to overcome fears you have in your life today. What fear are you dealing with right now and how can I pray for you?
