We have been invaded by Gnomes! I am crazy for these little fellas! Gnomes are the cutest things ever! After I saw how you could make these gnomes and so simply too, I went nuts and made a ton of them! Plus I got this stamp set which really made my day! So guess what our Christmas card will be this year? Yep…GNOMES! Oh they are cute! Here are some of the creations! Gnome invasionGnome Invasion Gnome Invasion Now time for you to make one or more! Step by step: Gnome Invasion After you cut your sock at the heal (I use an ankle sock) stuff the toe part with rice. About 1/2 cup enough for it to stand. Gnome Invasion Add some stuffing to make him or her chubby Gnome Invasion Tie a small rubber band around top to hold stuffing in Gnome Making You can hot glue beard on now or wait until you get the hat and nose on. This can be last. Gnome Invasion Place your fuzzy sock on top…I cut mine in half depends on the size you purchased. If you do get a bigger one use it for another Gnome. And here is where it starts…you keep making more! Gnome Invasion Hot glue your nose on the white sock. Gnome Invasion As you can see I added legs. Also the top of the sock on the hat can be formed into a ball by adding another small rubber band. Or add a pom pom. The legs are 2″ of fabric as long as you like sewn together and added pompoms for shoes. For white noses I added color by sponging with red ink. I tell you…you won’t be able to stop! Now for the cards… Gnome InvasionGnome Invasion . The set for this is by Fun Stampers Journey. I used the alcohol markers to give a bright watercolor look. I tried the watercolor pencils but it wasn’t strong enough plus it took longer. I love adding glue glitter as well as white liquid appliqué that puffs up when you heat it with a heating tool. Before you heat it, you can add glitter and when it puffs up it will sparkle! I love them all…can’t wait to make some more…happy gnome! Love deeper, talk sweeter, Lee

Bible Journaling, Crafts

Have you ever thought about if you ever would need a heart transplant whose heart you would get? Would it be a person who is famous? Maybe someone who had committed a murder! Or maybe someone who has given their whole life to serving others. The whole fact that one would need a transplant is scary as the risks are so high and recovery can be long.

But God gave us a chance without any of those risks or worrying about its past!

But have you thought about today? Do you need a new heart today? I do!

Do you find yourself stuck on your own views whether political, religious, or even, you will NEVER eat Asparagus. Are you stubborn, set in your own ways?

In the book of Ezekiel, starting in 36: 22, we read, “Therefore (read the passage before will help), give the people of Israel this message from the Sovereign Lord: I am bringing you back, but not because you deserve it.

Ok…we need to stop a minute. First, this passage is a message from the Sovereign Lord. Sovereign meaning all powerful, all in control…GOD Himself! If we are at all a person who desires to please others, we first need to please God. Listening to Him is a great start. Think about this for a minute. The God who created the universe is speaking to you. He is speaking and saying, “I am bringing you back”.

Back from what? Well, really our sinful self, our stubborn ways, and thoughts that we are always right. Look at the next part. He is even bringing us back and we don’t even deserve it. AMAZING! Yet, so many of us don’t understand this. We really don’t deserve what we have now or for believers, heaven. But our Jesus longs for us to spend eternity with Him so He paid the price of death, which as a sinless man he didn’t deserve. We do.

When we read on the Lord did this for His people to show how holy He is and that HE is Lord. He made a promise to bring them home. In verse 25 He sprinkles CLEAN water on each person. Washing the sin away. OH WHAT A SIGHT!

Again…if we don’t realize we are unclean we cannot accept this sprinkle of cleanliness. We cannot understand the need for a beautiful shower from our Lord. But when we do…

Verse 26…I WILL GIVE YOU A NEW HEART! There it is! Our transplant!

The transplant was successful! New, clean, pumping, and beating! The Lord has taken out our stony, stubborn old heart and given us a tender, responsive heart. DO YOU SEE THIS? Don’t you WANT to be tender? Don’t you WANT to be responsive to others? Think about your views again going back to the beginning. Your views on world issues. Did you react in a way that was tender to someone else’s position? Were you responding in love, tenderness, understanding? I can tell you…this is where this passage hit me…right in the HEART!

YEP, I need a transplant, everyday! I am quick to my viewpoints or beliefs and am not being a good witness to a God Who is patient and kind.

As I read on in this passage, I simply came before the Lord praying for a transplant. A transplant I may need to ask many times over, as I am a sinner. However, as a sinner I have a Savior. I know with every new heart I need to ask for forgiveness and He will forgive AND FORGET EVERY time. Unlike us humans, Jesus forgives and moves on.

A heart transplant on an operating table is far more risky as well as many months of healing, but a heart transplant from our Jesus is easy, not painful, and best of all will lead you to an abundant life with Him!

May you be open to receive a daily transplant and in turn be sprinkled with His blessings.

Love deeper, talk sweeter, ask for a new heart (and be amazed at HIS answer)

Summer is here! Finally! And with it comes graduations and wedding parties. So to work I went on an idea in creating a mason jar wedding gift.

What sparked the idea? Well, the bride had mason jars on her wedding list. Wedding Gift

For me, I couldn’t just give EMPTY jars…NO…and boom…came this idea.

Each jar represents one month, beginning with their married month which is June.

The bride is someone special as she was in my first high school group of girls I mentored. From her 9th grade year through her graduation, I saw this young smiley girl turn into a beautiful young woman fired up to serve our Lord Jesus Christ. She came in seeking, and indeed found the Lord on her journey.
This celebration of marriage, relationship, and commitment I am looking forward to sharing with her and her new love.

We also are giving a jar full of heart cookies, engraved M+R on them and the “We Still Do” sign giving a reminder of each year together.

Below I put a list of what I put into each jar. I also added a bible verse which went along with what I put in the jar, or to the month it was.

I added a message with the verse giving advice in God’s word on marriage and relationships.

It was so fun! I hope they find it as special as it was to make. Each month was using Pic Monkey for labels and editing pictures.

Here ya go:

June: Long Grain Rice
Wedding Gift
July: Red, White, Blue chocolate kisses and Dove candy
Wedding Gift
August: Brides birthday…candles, and matches
Wedding Gift
September: Bride’s a teacher, ginger tea with an apple theme
Wedding Gift
October: Ginger Snap Tea or Pumpkin Tea
Wedding Gift
November: Deer (she loves to hunt)
Wedding gift
December: 2 elf hats to go and serve and give of their time
Wedding Gift
January: COOL gum mints (talked about not letting relationship get cold)
Wedding Gift

February: Rose pedals and lollipop rings
Wedding Gift
March: Toothpicks (when a conversation gets prickly…)
Wedding Gift
April: 2 plastic eggs in grass (don’t put all your eggs in one basket filled with messaging essential oils and diffusing oil)
Wedding Gift
May: Jolly Ranchers (because we ranch and they love them)
Wedding Gift

Remember any links you click and purchase goes to help us serve kids in need on our ranch. We love to do what we do. Just like this young woman who marries a godly man mentored and pointed her to Christ welcomes a life full of HIS promises.

Thank you! May the Lord bless you today and enjoy making gifts homemade with love for others!

Ranch Life
Being in God’s word is really the only thing I can do to overcome my fear of something. Learning from Bokoda, our Haflinger horse, has taught me many things I do that simply don’t work. One…RUN! Fear will not go away. Fear will just keep coming back and learning to confront will help overcome.

Bokoda is a prey animal. He hears or sees something he thinks could kill him, he will run. It’s instinct. To save his life he is wired to run. God created horses to save themselves they must run away as fast as they can!

For us, NO. What does running do? For me I have had broken relationships because I didn’t want to deal with it any more. I have situations that I didn’t want to get hurt again, so the answer was to run away, instead of confront. I felt like the situation was impossible to fix or reconcile.

But I forgot one truth.

Brokenness and fear festers deep within when things are unresolved. The fear actually gets worse!

Remembering a truth…
“For the Heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your way and My thoughts tan your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:9

When I embraced the truth and thought was impossible, became God’s possible.

Since fear has no power over me as I have Jesus to help me overcome this major little word, I can indeed run to Jesus in the midst of fear vs. running away.

When we have Christ, He takes over. Indeed there is not only power in that alone, but what a promise we can hold on to! With Christ we can overcome ANY fear!

A bad diagnosis, a new change in life, loss of someone dear to us and being alone. You name it. Jesus’ has them all!

What a wonderful gift we have of art and being creative in our bibles. Below is a video on my new love..Gelatos! WOW! They are SO fun! There are many ways to use them and here I am showing one of many.

Devo creations verses:
Matthew 6:25-34
Psalm 60:2-4

In the video there is some blurred images. Sorry about that! Also the page I created is in Psalms not Isaiah. I was all over the Bible that day and got caught up in the moment. I hope you find it helpful and maybe even giving you power to overcome fears you have in your life today.

What fear are you dealing with right now and how can I pray for you?

Spring is a time for splashy colors and making fun, cute baskets to give to loved ones and friends!

My favorite colors are the bright lime greens, soft yellows, and of course the pinks, so I decided to make up these baskets for birthday gift giving and of course May Day surprises.

You can find the die cut shapes on Sizzix or Amazon which I will highlight under the pictures. Remember, there is a TON of ideas on the  Sizzix site and really look around you may find a cuter die cut that fits your style. For example, the butterfly. There are many to choose from and if I had a more detailed one I would have used that, but didn’t.
I found Amazon provided some better basket boxes and Sizzix was sold out of a few.
I had to bounce between the two and so may you. You will need a Big Shot or Cuttlebug to cut your dies. Once your into this machine your creative juices will really rock!

I also have come upon another company, The Fun Stampers Journey. I have a link to a gal who would be happy to help you, as well as get some of the die cuts from her. Her name is Pam and she is sweet. When you go to her link, you can click on the catalog and look around.
FSJ also has the bags!

So enjoy the shopping and being creative.

To make the basket topper you will need either one of these:

The solid die cut from Sizzix the #661018, just put it in the search part.
Daisy die from Amazon

For a CUTE scallop but with more lace type flare try this one:

You will see more…see what you like.

Scallop lace from Amazon
For these two  Sizzix doesn’t carry any more but put links from Amazon for you.

Here is one

Sizzix

Circle Scallop #660021 for fun edging. Just put it in the search part of the site.

 Here is one

Hope the video here helps in how to make the basket handle for your bags.

Want some of these cute bags? Lime green, purple, pink, yellow, and teal. Just email me and I would be happy to send you some! Free will offering! (they’re cheap!) I did say 50 cents a bag on the video, but want you to have them if you like.

Enjoy making your fun basket gift bags this spring! They are cute!

Here is a video explaining how I did them. MAN Smilebox hasn’t fix this yet, but hope to get it fixed so you can see the whole HOW TO which got cut off. Hang in there…it will get fixed!

Bible Journaling, Crafts, Ranch Life
When I got into bible journaling, I began simply with just buying the NIV Bible Journaling book and some colored pencils. Which by the way are awesome! I can water color or just color with these and they are amazing. I also enjoyed getting out the sparkly gel pens too.

But when I saw what Dayspring had in their packets and kits, I came into a whole new world of journaling!

What I love so much about them is really, they keep me organized in finding certain words.

For example, I like how the tabs are on the top that I can label frustration,  forgiveness, worried, angry, or love. I can quickly go to those spots when one of those words are in my life. Or someone else that I can give them a verse.

I adore these pom poms….just because!

Another item I didn’t know how to use right away I now find amazing! These clear transfers can be used as you see below as an overlay.

I love this! I can have this colorful page that I attach with wasabi tape (Dayspring has) and add my own note on top or prayer. It is especially cool when the page has already been drawn on.

The best part about bible journaling is how wonderful this is to share with young kids but really for teens. I know through the years of doing ministry with teens getting into the Word of God is hard for them.

Bible journaling is a wonderful way to let them express creatively what their thoughts are or to remember what God is trying to teach them.

The kits make great gifts. The Advent kit is wonderful! I highly recommend this for stocking stuffers for next year…or a St. Nick gift on December 6th. (You place one shoe outside the door and fill with goodies) Traditions are so fun!

Remember if you click on the Dayspring link on this blog and the other links, proceeds from your purchase goes to support our ranch ministry.

When you explore all Dayspring has to offer, you will be hooked on this wonderful way of doing devotions as well as how they provide some wonderful gift ideas!

Thank you in advance, for clicking on the links from this blog to help us reach kids and teens in need1

God’s blessings upon you as you live life for Jesus!

Crafts, Paper/Cards
Don’t you just love receiving a homemade thank you card?
Especially one you didn’t expect to receive ?  I DO!

BUT most of all…I love making them!

This last week I had to get on the horn and make some long overdue thank you cards and of course I have to make it a little country, a little ranch like, and touches of the season.

These cards are using mostly background papers that I find online HERE

There are so many background papers to choose from you can really go crazy! I do like to buy them in big bulk packages as they provide more for my money. Plus, the variety in that one pack is huge and sparks some creativity!

So…here is the scoop on how I put these together:

I made up a template for the jean pocket and used my favorite vintage card stock for the tags. I made my own tags but you can also purchase them already done too.

Of course, enjoying the ranch life we have to have cowboy type background paper.

Using inks from Stamping’ Up! and thank you stamps, I added distressing color to the outside of the card and directly on the card. This gives the old time look. (when you purchase from SU! you really get the BEST of inks and card stock, my personal preference) The ink I used was More Mustard.

Finally, I give the card an overall look by stitching around the edges from my sewing machine. I didn’t do this to all of them, but looking at it, I like it better. It added a ton to the overall look.

Hope you find making special thank you cards to your loved ones and friends, brings them joy as well as knowing how much you care for them.

Making homemade cards is truly a great gift you can give to anyone!
Spark someone you love today with a homemade thank you card!

Enjoy!
