Ooo laaa laaa! This craft room has become my room for sure! My room with its brightness and special touches have truly made crafting so much more delightful in every way!

I love how not only the windows put a smile on your face, but the paint choice, the day bed, and small details just bring a sense of peace.

This light really makes the room! Not only is it whimsical but does it give out the light! It’s LED so it will last more than I will.  I just LOVE it! (pictured below) My hubby had quite the time getting this girly girl light…ran into 2 guys he knew and…well…he was made fun of. What a man!

My hubby is also adding shelving with drawers that will go under the desk he made. This will help take some of the clutter on the desk into the easy access drawers.

Lastly, I will be having a friend paint a verse on the wall. She can’t make it until January but she did the rest of our home and can’t wait how she will finish this very special part of the room. Doing my morning devotionals on my day bed and looking up at the verse will surely start my day with HIS faithfulness and love.

Enjoy the pictures of the room. It really was fun to create and now…inspiration and creation will be easily sparked in this whimsy craft room!
Day bed…so whimsical!

And my lamp. I decided not to even sew this lamp shade as the heart pins on the top are too adorable…so I kept them on.

Now…time to craft!

Love this LIGHT!!!

Melody’s amazing gift
Isn’t she just a cutie?

I have known Melody for years and wouldn’t you know met her through stamping! And much more as she was one of many who prayed for me to invite Jesus as my Lord and Savior! We became instantly close in those times of asking many questions and am so thankful for her. As Melody has done all the rooms in our home with each verse having a special meaning and conversation starter.

The first thing I see as I do my bible study every morning!

What a finish and such a delight to have Melody who adores crafting as well to do this wall for me. I just love it! If you want to see all Melody has to give in her amazing gift of art, you can go to her website and see for yourself. She is adorable too! Her site, www.mgcreativeonline.com or the link below.

Thanks for the ride with me on this adventure of my favorite room in the house!

Oh I can’t believe it! For 25 years I have had my little craft room in the laundry room with no windows. My hubby would joke and say, “you can do your sewing and at the same time get the laundry done.” HA HA!
Now that we are empty nesters my man and I got to work creating a new craft room with lots of natural light!

A new craft room with color and light will make creating so much more exciting!

I am calling it my Whimsy room! Because of the whimsy decor…so cute!

Here is what the room looked like before we began. Our son  Mitchell.

Now for the fun part…gutting and getting walls ready for new brightness!

We were given old base boards as a donation so I decided to use these as a  crown molding around the room. I painted them white…and added a splash of distressing…

Dan mounted them…they look so cool against the painted wall!

We also decided to empty the closet taking out the old racks and will turn this area into the main area for stamping.

This next part was so fun to do and really makes for a cute window especially a craft room! I wanted a WHIMSY type of room so looking at ideas for window decor I came up with this. What do you think?

Whimsy or what? It was also a project I could do NOW since I had to wait for the flooring to come in.

I just took material and cut them into strips tying them onto a white cord made of cotton. I measured the cord out by hanging it on the window so I knew how long I wanted the swag. Lookin’ whimsy for sure!
Even the rod is whimsy!

Next took some time as Dan has never put hardwood floor in before. The underlayment isn’t tricky but thank God for Youtube.

Oh the hardwood is so pretty. I couldn’t resist and laid some down to see what it looked like. Getting all his measurements and knowing direction of wood he began the first layers.
He is so good at stuff like this and being a perfectionist he did it well!

OK…he finished the floor…

I think it turned out great! The details of this little room will make creating so fun and cheerful!

Isn’t it important to feel good in a place you are creating in?

Making herbal tea is a daily thing for our family. We enjoy making herb teas using my love of blending many different herbs. But the best part is making it all special especially when I give it as a gift. One thing I love to do is make individual tea bags full of my special blends, but it is hard to find a tea bag that will work so I decided to create my own. I decided to use coffee filters or Bulk Herb Store has some too. Sewing makes it fun as you can add a colored thread to make it match a gift or a theme. Thinking about all this Viking stuff around here, purple thread tea bags would be fun! Stamping is another added love so getting out stamps to go with the persons’ personality or if it’s a special occasion like a birthday.  I, of course, used our touch of simple ranch life which became my platform to make the tea bags. I hope you will find it just as fun and your special touches will be a delight for the receiver. Let me know what you think by making a comment below. I enjoy seeing the ideas as well as ways to improve my own ideas. SO…here ya go! Now for the fun part! Stamping time! Grab some fun background paper and favorite stamps, stamp and cut out. The final step, tape to your dangling string. Done! I am sure it looks adorable. You can go into Amazon and search favorite stamps if you are not into western. Here are some I did. Think how wonderful it would be to get a get well card with a fun box full of tea bags with herbs that will help whatever their illness. Very special and a homemade touch! OH, I love it…enjoy making some and giving them as gifts! Again, let me know by making a comment. God’s blessings, Love deeper, talk sweeter, Lee

Every year we have the opportunity to make a Christmas box for Operation Christmas Child. This organization is so well put together and I love how it opens the door for families to work together in making a box full of things a child will need. It is also a wonderful opportunity to teach giving to your children. A longtime tradition around here. Not only putting it together but making something homemade brings a more special joy for the giver and the receiver! This year I got the idea of doing this chalk mat from of all the great ideas on Pinterest. When I was shopping online, I saw these chalk markers. Of course with this idea in my head, I had to get them! Traditionally we make up a box or two every year, but since our children are now grown, it is harder to get in the spirit of this activity. Also doing it as a couple is just well…different. So I had to think of something I could sew. I got busy creating this mat and with some extra of this plastic stuff I had around from making purses years ago, this was perfect to add to the mat. Here is the layout for doing this play mat. It is wonderful for kids to carry around too by adding a handle on the end. Step 1.Cut one piece of your chalk fabric 10’x 13.5″ Step 2 Cut 2 Pieces of 12’x20 your fabric 1 piece of 5″ x 12″ vinyl Step 3 Cut one piece of 12″ x 20″ fusible fleece Step 4 After cutting your pieces next iron your fabric to the fleece Step 5 Pin chalk onto fabric.  Next, sew onto your fabric I used a zig zag stitch Another look: Step 6  Place a small bias tape on edge of vinyl and sew. I used leftover fabric. Put vinyl in place and clothes pins to hold Sew in place Step 7 Once you have the above bias on the vinyl and the vinyl sewn down the center creating 2 pockets you are ready to put the 2 fabrics right sides together and pin. Leave a hole so you can turn it back right side out. Step 8 Once you have turned it back out, sew your open hole shut by hand. I also added a ribbon at the top and a little handle on the end in case it is hung on something in a car or a room. You can use chalk or chalk markers. I just love this idea and hope I was clear enough. If not, please let me know! God’s blessing and happy crafting! Love deeper, talk sweeter, Lee

This is such a simple and fun thing to make! These doggy bandanas make awesome gifts for ANY dog lover! If you don’t like to sew, I have an ETSY store and you can just purchase them. Free shipping too. BUT, if you like to sew well here ya go! First, pick your favorite fabric. I love Fabric.com Measure an even square for your size pup. I do mostly 14″ to 16″ as my dog is a medium size pup. It really doesn’t matter if it comes out smaller as you make this bandana for the collar to go through. Easy off for washing or switching to another fun bandana. Perfect square evenly measuring all the way around. (I did 18″ here for a BIG dog) Sew a 1/4″ seam on your corners. Right SIDE should face up. I sewed and back stitched a couple of times on both ends because of how many times a collar could be put in and out of this area. Allowing extra support. Sew 1/4″ seam around your triangle making sure right sides together, and you start and stop at your sewn corners. Leave the openings and reverse your bandana when done. Once you sew on your line you can wipe off the mark with water. This will be the hole for the collar to go through. Enjoy making these! They are super fun to sew, give as gifts, and to interchange for seasons or occasions! Love deeper, talk sweeter, Lee
